The 2024 WWE Bad Blood PLE ended with a massive surprise as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made an unexpected appearance on stage while Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes were in the ring. The moment had fans buzzing, wondering if this could lead to The Rock’s return to in-ring action. However, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock is not currently scheduled for a match at WrestleMania 41.

While The Rock’s appearance ignited speculation about a potential match, Meltzer clarified that there are no current plans for The Rock to face Reigns or Rhodes at WrestleMania. Meltzer added that although things could change, The Rock has already indicated that his busy schedule prevents him from committing to a match at this time. Meltzer explained:

“While nobody can say it publicly, some with old-school mentalities didn’t like the idea that he stole the show and it’s not building to a match. He’s not going to be able to do Mania. He already gave word that he wouldn’t be able to do that match.”

The Rock’s appearance came with a notable visual as he brought out the People’s Belt, which was gifted to him by the widow of Muhammad Ali at the Hall of Fame. Despite the excitement surrounding his presence, Meltzer suggested that The Rock’s involvement was more of a special moment than the start of a new storyline.

“What we do know is that Dwayne Johnson when it comes to this is either going to be all in, meaning a full training camp to get into the best wrestling and cosmetic shape he can get in, or not in. The story is simply his schedule got too heavy, he couldn’t commit to doing it right.”

As of now, The Rock remains a wild card for future WWE events, with the potential for a change of heart leading up to the Royal Rumble PLE. Fans will have to wait and see if he decides to make a full commitment or if his schedule will keep him from stepping back into the ring.
