Ric Flair is one of the most famous names in wrestling history, but he is also a controversial figure for various reasons. That is why it comes as no surprise Flair ended up deleting a controversial tweet concerning relief for Hurricane Milton after receiving severe backlash.

Hurricane Milton has caused significant damage across Florida, with residents bracing for severe impacts. The storm made landfall on October 9, bringing destruction in its wake. There have been reported fatalities in St. Lucie County along Florida’s Atlantic coast, where tornadoes also struck the region.

Hurricane Milton has caused a lot of damage in Florida, and Ric Flair wanted to help. He posted on social media saying that he couldn’t give $100,000, but he would donate $1,000 to a charity in Tampa. He felt bad for enjoying his fame while others were suffering and offered to send his energy drink, Wooooo Energy, to help people feel better. He also praised his grandson for helping with recovery efforts. However, many fans didn’t like his post and criticized him, which led him to delete it.

“I Am So Sorry For Being In Las Vegas Reaping The Benefits Of Being The Personality I Am. I Am So Sorry For Everything, All The Suffering, And All The Hardships People Are Going Through In Tampa Where I Live. I Can’t Give You $100,000, But I Will Donate $1,000 Dollars To Whatever Charity You Would Like, And I Will Supply Tampa With All The @woooooenergy Drinks That Are Needed To Keep Everyone’s Energy Up. So Much Respect For My Grandson Carter And All The Volunteers That Are Working So Hard To Help In The Recovery Efforts. WOOOOO Energy On Me! Just Tell Me When & Where To Send It.

Ric Flair took to Twitter and expressed frustration at the negative comments, saying he was just trying to help and not make money. He challenged his critics to match his $1,000 donation and to show their real names, asking for honesty in the discussion.

”I’m So Sick Of All The Haters When I’m Just Trying To Help Out & Not Make A Dime For It! Forget The Energy Drink, Let’s Play The Game Of If You Can Match My Donation Of $1,000. And Please Try To Show Up With Your Real Names. Please! If I Can’t Google You, How Can I Talk To You. At Least Leave Your Phone Number!”

Hurricane Milton has affected NXT as well, leading to them postponing upcoming events. Travel issues caused by the hurricane have left many NXT Superstars stranded in St. Louis after the October 8 episode at The Factory, making it difficult for them to return safely. While Ric Flair may have had good intentions in mind, his tweet was clearly made in poor taste. Regardless, Flair will continue to get backlash for his remarks and that may not change anytime soon.
