Jerry “The King” Lawler has had a legendary career in WWE, making him a wrestling icon associated with the company for many years. He has faced ongoing health challenges but recently addressed the possibility of returning to a commentary role.

Jerry Lawler is still under a Legends deal with WWE, but he continues to deal with numerous health issues. After experiencing a stroke scare last year, along with paralysis before the stroke, he has been recovering from double knee surgery. Despite these efforts, he continues to face problems, including difficulties with mobility and speech, leaving fans concerned about whether he will fully regain his ability to speak.

While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling, Jerry Lawler was asked if he misses his commentary role in WWE. Lawler made it clear he doesn’t and stated that he has no desire to return to the commentary booth. He shared that his health has been a significant issue recently, having suffered a couple of strokes. These health challenges led to the loss of his commentary deal with WWE, as his voice is not perfect and not suitable for commentating anymore.

“Well, my health has been a big problem for me lately. I had, first of all, a couple of strokes. That’s what cost me my deal with WWE and my commentating because my voice is not perfect, but it’s not good enough to do commentating. Do I miss it? No. Well, I just went out there and sat down by myself, and I just—I don’t know—it was just like another chapter of my life. I got to lay out there, and I didn’t think much about it. As a matter of fact, like 10 or 15 minutes before it was over, I was thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, how much longer is this going to last?’ So anyway, as soon as it was over, I just got up, went about my business, left the studio, and just went about being Jerry Lawler.”

Jerry Lawler is clearly more focused on his life outside the world of professional wrestling as he has more projects to worry about. Nonetheless, fans will simply have to accept the fact that Lawler will never return to the commentary booth again.

Do you believe it’s simply unfortunate that Jerry Lawler will never step foot inside a commentary booth again? Let us know in the comments section below!
