AJ Styles’ WWE Storyline Hinges on Upcoming MRI Results Following Injury

The October 4 episode of WWE SmackDown featured AJ Styles’ return to television after several months, and fans were excited to see him back. However, they became worried when it seemed he sustained an injury during the show. Following his injury, WWE’s plans for Styles have been revealed.

AJ Styles came out and gave an emotional speech to the WWE fans but was interrupted by Carmelo Hayes, leading to a match between the two. The match started off well, but things took a turn when AJ Styles seemed to hurt his foot, which led to the match being stopped.

Despite his injury, Styles managed to walk out of the ring on his own, but he was later seen using crutches, raising concerns among fans about how serious his injury might be. It was then reported that AJ Styles’ injury was real and not part of a storyline. He is set to undergo an MRI to find out how serious the injury is.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AJ Styles’ injury was serious enough to stop the match during WWE SmackDown. After landing from a quebrada and then experiencing a leg issue during an ushigoroshi, the referee had no choice but to call off the match. Meltzer noted that Styles was upset about the situation, as he was set to begin a storyline for a farewell tour or retirement tease. This is still the plan but it will depend on the results of Styles’ upcoming MRI, which will determine the extent of his injury.

Fans are hoping that The Phenomenal One didn’t suffer a serious injury and will be able to make his in-ring return sooner rather than later, as WWE clearly have significant plans for the two-time WWE Champion. Therefore, we’ll have to see what will become of Styles in the end.
