The Undertaker Believes His Matches with Kurt Angle Do Not Receive Enough Attention

The Undertaker’s contributions to the pro wrestling world will never be forgotten as he put his body on the line for fans for three decades. He has faced many top stars in WWE ,and that includes Kurt Angle. In fact, it appears The Deadman believes his matches with Angle are overlooked.

One of The Undertaker’s most underrated opponents in the ring was Kurt Angle. The two clashed many times, especially during the Attitude Era when Angle was new to wrestling. The Olympic Gold Medalist quickly adapted, and a few years later at No Way Out 2006, he defended the World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker. This match has become a favorite among longtime fans.

While speaking on the podcast Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Undertaker praised Kurt Angle, calling him an “absolute machine” who always pushed him to his limits. He was sad about the fact that their matches, known for their excellent storytelling, often go unrecognized and do not get enough attention.

“I loved working with Kurt [Angle]. Man, he was just a machine. We have some matches in the can that I don’t think get talked about nearly enough. For storytelling, more so than anything. There was a huge size discrepancy between me and Kurt, and just him, wittling and wittling, trying to get me off my feet, and then when he finally did, just turning into a wolverine.”

Kurt Angle also revealed scrapped plans for his match with The Undertaker, as Vince McMahon ultimately decided to not have them square off against each other at WrestleMania 22 back in 2006. Regardless, The Undertaker believes that his matches with Kurt Angle deserve more appreciation than they currently receive, and that sentiment is unlikely to change anytime soon.
