Hayes earned his shot at the title after a big victory over AJ Styles last Friday. Before the match, LA Knight promised Hayes a title opportunity if he could defeat Styles. The match ended with Hayes being declared the winner by referee stoppage after Styles was unable to continue due to an injury. However, Hayes’ celebration was short-lived as LA Knight attacked him after the decision was announced.

While Hayes has his sights set on the U.S. title, he’s also been involved in an intense feud with Andrade on SmackDown. The two are currently tied at 3-3, and a decisive seventh match is likely to come in the near future to settle their rivalry once and for all.
