Lashley was a central figure on WWE TV until WrestleMania 40 and he has since left WWE. He is expected to make his debut in AEW very soon and now it appears AEW’s original plans for his debut have been revealed.
MVP made a surprising debut in AEW on the September 25 episode of Dynamite at Arthur Ashe Stadium, catching fans off guard with a heated confrontation with Swerve Strickland’s manager, Prince Nana. It was clear that MVP wasn’t finished with Nana.
In the October 2 episode of Dynamite, MVP had a backstage moment where he gave his business card to Mercedes Mone. While trying to record a promo, he was interrupted by Prince Nana, who offered to help him by stepping into the ring. MVP then announced a big surprise, stating that he doesn’t handle complaints personally, but Shelton Benjamin does and the camera confirmed that Shelton Benjamin has joined AEW.
In addition to that, it was reported that Bobby Lashley has signed a contract with AEW, so the timing of his debut is the biggest question on fans’ minds. According to Ibou of WrestlePurists, when asked about Bobby Lashley’s appearance at WrestleDream, he confirmed that Lashley is definitely set to make his debut at AEW WrestleDream on October 12. He noted that AEW initially planned for Lashley to compete at the pay-per-view.
”100%. He was originally scheduled to wrestle on the show.”
With AEW WrestleDream set to take place on October 12th in Tacoma, Washington and Swerve Strickland being confirmed for the show, it is expected that Lashley and Swerve will likely get involved in a confrontation which will lead to a feud between The Hurt Syndicate and Swerve Strickland. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see how AEW will execute their plans at WrestleDream.
