The October 8th edition of WWE NXT promises to be action-packed, dealing with the fallout from last week’s show but it appears the NXT Superstars will be remaining in Missouri after the show because of Hurricane Milton.
Hurricane Milton is moving through the Gulf of Mexico toward Florida, being described as an “extremely dangerous” storm that could hit a major population area. This comes just two weeks after Hurricane Helene caused significant damage along the coast. Milton was classified as a Category 5 storm on Monday but weakened to a Category 4 by Tuesday. Forecasters from the National Hurricane Center have indicated that the storm is expected to stay a major hurricane and might even grow larger as it nears Florida.
In response, airlines are canceling flights and changing schedules as some airports in Florida prepare for disruptions caused by Hurricane Milton, which is expected to make landfall on Wednesday. The National Hurricane Center has also warned of potentially life-threatening storm surges and damaging winds along parts of Florida’s west coast starting late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
PWInsider reports that readers have inquired about the potential impact of Hurricane Milton on tonight’s WWE NXT episode. According to their sources, everyone scheduled for the taping is already in town, so there are not expected to be any problems. WWE plans to keep everyone in the Missouri area until airports in Florida reopen and it is safe for them to return, given that the hurricane is set to hit Florida tomorrow.
As for concerns about next week’s NXT production at the Performance Center, it is too early to determine if there will be any effects from the hurricane. Therefore, it remains to be seen how long the WWE Superstars will remain in Missouri until they are able to fly back to Florida, as it could be a while until they can return to Florida.
