AEW President Tony Khan, known for his kindness and generosity in the world of professional wrestling, has once again stepped up to help out. As part of the Hurricane Helene relief efforts, Khan contributed to assisting the people of Asheville, showing his commitment to supporting those in need during tough times.
Hurricane Helene has had a significant impact on the wrestling world, leading to numerous event cancellations and postponements across Florida, North Carolina, and other states. The storm caused severe damage, with at least 64 lives lost and millions of homes still without power, making recovery difficult for those in affected areas. Wrestlers, promotions, and fans are all feeling the effects of this disaster.
TNA Wrestling initially postponed shows in Spartanburg, but later canceled them due to the hurricane. Cash Wheeler also shared the devastating effects of the storm on his hometown in North Carolina. Cash Wheeler started a GoFundMe campaign to provide supplies like food and water to those in need, focusing on his hometown of Old Fort, North Carolina, and nearby areas. Tony Khan had contributed $10,000 towards the relief efforts as well.
Asheville, North Carolina resident Adam Copeland appeared on Busted Open to talk about the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene and the ongoing relief efforts in his community. During the discussion, Copeland revealed that AEW President Tony Khan played a key role in helping the local police department.
According to Copeland, the Asheville Police Department needed specialized Starlink devices to improve communication and locate people trapped in remote mountain areas, which the larger Starlink units couldn’t reach. Copeland reached out to Khan for help, and he quickly sent the needed stealth Starlinks to assist in the recovery efforts. Copeland praised Khan for his generosity and support during the crisis, highlighting how he stepped up to provide essential equipment.
”And I’m sure he wouldn’t ever want me to tell this but, they needed some stealth Starlinks instead of I guess the big ones that Elon Musk sent aren’t necessarily good for getting out in the mountains. With these things and drones over top to be able to start locating people. So I reached out to Tony Khan, and guess who sent out a bunch of stealth Starlinks to the Asheville Police Department? I’ll say it because, you know… He’s been awesome throughout this whole thing. Just throwing help wherever he can and I mean, so many people have been but, when you get an area that can’t get their hands on Starlinks and these particular ones, it’s like, okay, we gotta reach outside here and you know, I just thought of him, and sure enough, he came through.”
Tony Khan has shown time and again that he is always willing to help those who are suffering from tragedies no matter what and for his generous actions, he will always have a good reputation.
