Monday Night RAW started as a two-hour show but was extended to three hours in 2012. After more than a decade, the show returned to its two-hour format for the October 7th edition of the show, and the internal reaction to its shift to the two-hour format has now been revealed.

On the September 9 episode of Monday Night RAW, part of WWE Week on the USA Network, it was officially revealed that RAW would switch back to a two-hour format starting October 7. The show would air from 8/7c to 10/9c each week and continue in this time slot until its final episode on the USA Network, which is set for December 30. Naturally, this was a big announcement and somewhat of a shock for many.

The October 7th episode of Monday Night RAW saw CM Punk making it clear his future in WWE is uncertain, GUNTHER successfully retaining his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Sami Zayn and many other memorable moments, as the time simply flew by due to its two-hour duration.

Fightful Select reports that there were some “growing pains” with the return to a two-hour format for RAW. However, they noted that adjusting the show’s structure wasn’t difficult, since WWE has been producing two-hour Smackdowns for the past 25 years.
