Gail Kim was hailed as one of the true pioneers of women’s wrestling, especially thanks to her contributions to the business in Impact Wrestling. She had a couple of stints in WWE back in the day and has now made it clear she doubts WWE will ever bring her back as an in-ring competitor.

Gail Kim is currently a producer for TNA Wrestling and has been attending NXT events when TNA is represented, due to the collaboration between the two promotions. In the fall of 2023, she made her in-ring return at IMPACT 1000, marking her first match since 2019.

While speaking during a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest, Kim was asked about the possibility of returning to the ring for WWE. She expressed doubts about that happening, citing various reasons. She mentioned that WWE might hold grudges and reflected on her past experiences with the company.

Now at 47, she reminisced about her earlier years in her 30s, especially when she felt women’s wrestling was not being treated properly. Kim explained that she wanted to make the most of her career and felt she couldn’t afford to waste more time signing a lengthy contract with WWE, which led to her departure.

I don’t think they (WWE) would have me back (as an in-ring performer). I mean, there’s a lot of reasons why. I don’t know how much they hold grudges or anything like that. Listen, we all grow from your situations and I have grown obviously. I’m a 47-year-old woman now. I was in my early 30s I think then (when I eliminated myself from the Battle Royal) and… you know, when you care so much about women’s wrestling and it’s just not treated right… And I just felt like, oh my God, I gotta get out of here. I only have a certain amount of time. I was in my 30s. I knew I felt like I was in my prime and I felt like I had more to give to the fans and I was just like, I can’t sign another three-year deal here. I can’t waste three more years of my life and my career and so, yeah, that was the way it just all ended up.

Gail Kim is more than happy her in current role in TNA Wrestling, but there is always the chance she could get involved in a backstage role in WWE somewhere down the line. However, fans now might have to accept the fact that she will never wrestle for WWE again.
