The Hurt Business, which included Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin, made a significant impact during their time in WWE but were ultimately disbanded in 2021. Lashley, MVP and Benjamin will be reforming the faction in AEW soon and now the possibility of AEW adding more members to the group has been revealed.
MVP made his shocking debut in AEW on the September 25th episode of Dynamite at Arthur Ashe Stadium, surprising fans in a big way as he had a heated confrontation with Swerve Strickland’s manager Prince Nana, but it was clear MVP was far from done with Prince Nana.
As seen during the October 2nd episode of Dynamite, MVP had a backstage encounter where he handed his business card to Mercedes Mone. While attempting to record another promo, he was interrupted by Prince Nana, who offered to help him by stepping into the ring. It was then that MVP revealed a big surprise and announced that he doesn’t handle complaints personally, but Shelton Benjamin does. The camera then confirmed that Shelton Benjamin became part of AEW.
In addition to that, it was reported that Bobby Lashley has signed a contract with AEW, so fans are now wondering when The Almighty will debut as well. While speaking on Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether AEW would add more members to The Hurt Syndicate faction.
Sapp noted that while there have been discussions about adding new members, no immediate additions are expected for The Hurt Syndicate at the moment. He added that there were initial plans for Scorpio Sky to collaborate with Private Party, but those plans ultimately fell through.
“No, there have been some names tossed around but I don’t know if any names are getting added imminently to that. They had planned to have Scorpio Sky work with Private Party and it didn’t end up happening.”
With AEW WrestleDream set to take place on October 12th in Tacoma, Washington, many fans believe Bobby Lashley will make his impactful debut at the pay-per-view and the faction will officially reunite in the company. Therefore, it remains to be seen how well the faction will be booked once they get started in AEW, as the possibilities will be endless for them.
