With 2025 marking the final chapter of John Cena’s legendary wrestling career, an update has been provided on the 16-time WWE World Champion’s busy filming schedule.
After his surprise appearance at WWE Money in the Bank, where Cena announced his plans to retire in 2025, he has been noticeably absent from WWE television, focusing instead on his Hollywood commitments.
One of Cena’s major obligations is the second season of HBO’s hit series Peacemaker, where he reprises his role as the title character. Series creator James Gunn recently provided an update on the show’s progress via Threads. When asked by a fan how much of Peacemaker Season 2 had been filmed, Gunn responded: “Just over half. It’s a beast.”
In addition to Peacemaker, Cena’s upcoming projects also include his scheduled appearance for the Netflix premiere of Monday Night Raw in January 2025. Cena has confirmed that he plans to return to WWE programming around that time, making appearances throughout the year leading up to his retirement at the end of 2025.
As Cena prepares to balance his Hollywood career with his wrestling swan song, fans are eagerly awaiting his return to the WWE ring for his final year on the road.
