WWE Bad Blood 2024 kicked off with a bloody and brutal Hell in a Cell match. CM Punk beat Drew McIntyre, and it was quite a way to begin the premium live event in Atlanta. The October 7 WWE RAW in Saint Louis saw Punk open up the show.

CM Punk received flack from Ryback for being “reckless” in that match against Drew McIntyre. After all, Punk did split McIntyre wide open with a wrench to the head, something that required a profanity-filled video as Drew got 16 stitches to heal his wound.

CM Punk opened this week’s RAW, though he didn’t make it all the way to the ring. Holding a microphone, he addressed the crowd, saying it was great to be alive on a Monday in Saint Louis, even if he wasn’t in the best condition. Punk admitted he wasn’t able to step into the ring, emphasizing how much pain he was in.

“It hurts to smile, but I had to come here and see you. I’m alive, but it doesn’t feel like it. I’m a winner, but it doesn’t feel like I won.”

Punk then reflected on the ending of Hell in a Cell, sharing that it left him with many unanswered questions. He confessed to being more battered than ever before, and admitted that he wasn’t sure what would come next.

He then took a moment to thank his supporters, acknowledging his loyal fans, his WWE peers, and even his critics, who he credited with fueling his drive by turning their hate into motivation—and, ultimately, into cash.

Finally, CM Punk announced that he was heading home to his wife, saying he had a lot of flowers to buy. He wrapped up by expressing his gratitude to the fans, admitting that he didn’t know when he would be back, but he wanted to thank them regardless.

Then Seth Rollins’ music hit, and he came out to tell him to get well soon. He wants to see Punk back so he can retire him for good.
