WWE hosted Bad Blood at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, and fans were eager to see how the Hell in a Cell match would unfold. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre opened the event with an intense level of violence not seen in WWE for years. There was a spot where CM Punk collapsed after the match and this worried fans and now backstage details regarding this spot have been revealed.

The match, which began due to the issues between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre dating back to the Royal Rumble, was intense from the opening bell. Both Superstars brutally attacked each other with weapons like steel steps, wrenches, and a toolbox.

They both started bleeding early on, with McIntyre repeatedly mocking Punk throughout the match. The action was relentless, and fans were equally thrilled and horrified as both men pushed themselves to the limit. In the end, CM Punk picked up the win by delivering a GTS to The Scottish Warrior, wrapping a chain around his knee to make the move even more devastating.

After the match ended, CM Punk was making his way to the back when he suddenly collapsed on the floor. Officials and medical staff quickly rushed to his side. Punk attempted to stand and walk a bit further but collapsed again, prompting the medical team to give him oxygen.

While speaking on Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about CM Punk collapsing after the brutal Hell in a Cell match. Sapp noted that it was simply a work and there was nothing to worry about whatsoever. “The collapsing at the end was a work,” Sapp said.

We have also reported that Drew McIntyre was banged up after the match and required 16 stitches after he suffered a bloody wound on his head. In addition to that, WWE officials were very happy with the Hell in a Cell match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. Some backstage felt that the two wrestlers revived the “sense of danger and intensity” that classic Hell in a Cell matches were famous for. Regardless, we’ll have to see what’s next in store for McIntyre and Punk, as it’s clear that their feud is finally over.
