Cora Jade made a surprising return to WWE NXT this week, months ahead of schedule after tearing her ACL during a live event back in January. While fans initially believed she would be sidelined for the rest of the year, Jade shocked everyone by interfering in Roxanne Perez’s NXT Women’s Championship match against Giulia on the October 1 edition of NXT.
The interference by Jade helped Perez retain her title, signaling that Jade has big plans following her return to the ring. Shortly after the episode aired, Jade took to Twitter to share never-before-seen footage of herself just five minutes after undergoing surgery in January. In the video, Jade expressed her frustration with being sidelined and vowed to return stronger than ever.
“Happy NXT Tuesday, post-surgery, I’m annoyed. Guess what, in 9 months you just wait. Because I’m sick of waiting around, I’m sick of not having my shot, that title’s gonna be mine in 9 months, goodbye,” Jade confidently declared in the video.
WWE is reportedly very high on Cora Jade and has major plans for her as she reestablishes herself on NXT. According to WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass, WWE had high hopes for Jade before her injury and has big plans now that she has made her return. Her involvement in the highly anticipated NXT debut on the CW Network further highlights her prominent role in the brand’s future.
Though Jade is clearly positioned for a major push, her next move remains uncertain. While many speculate she will pursue the NXT Women’s Championship, Jade has also hinted at possibly reuniting with Roxanne Perez instead. With her return shaking things up, it will be interesting to see what path she takes as she reclaims her spot on NXT.
