Former WWE Champion Big E has been out of action since sustaining a serious neck injury over a year ago, and while his return to the ring remains uncertain, he recently provided an update on his status for WrestleMania 41.
Big E has been sidelined since the March 11, 2022, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where he suffered a broken neck during a tag team match against Ridge Holland and Sheamus. In a scary moment, Big E took a belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland that went wrong, causing him to land awkwardly on his head and neck. The injury was immediately serious, resulting in fractures to his C1 and C6 vertebrae. Fortunately, the injury did not require surgery, but it did leave his in-ring future in doubt.
Since then, Big E has remained a constant presence on WWE television, making appearances at events and staying active in the media. However, questions about whether he will ever return to the ring have lingered.
During a Fanatics Fest autograph session, Big E was asked about the possibility of competing at WrestleMania 41, set for April 19 and April 20, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium. While he didn’t provide a definitive answer, Big E hinted that his return could still happen, depending on the outcome of upcoming medical evaluations.
“I’m not medically cleared yet, but we will see,” Big E said, leaving the door open for a potential in-ring comeback at WWE’s biggest event of the year.
Big E remains optimistic, as he’s eyeing an in-ring return pending results from neck scans scheduled within the next 3-6 months. Whether or not he’ll be able to compete at WrestleMania 41 is still up in the air, but fans are eagerly awaiting his potential return, which would undoubtedly become one of the most memorable moments in WWE history.
For now, Big E’s health remains the top priority, but his hopeful outlook has fans buzzing about the possibility of seeing him step back into the ring at the Showcase of the Immortals.
