WWE is always evolving as they bring in new stars, and although most of them travel through NXT first, that’s not the case for everyone. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are about to break the WWE Universe wide open with their impending debut.

During the October 4 WWE SmackDown, the company aired a video vignette for a new debuting tag team. A lot of fans wondered who was coming in, and now we know for certain.

Sean Ross Sapp confirmed on Fightful Select that the vignette that aired is in fact for the Motor City Machine Guns. This was what the general mindset was last night during SmackDown, and the big question is when they will debut.

It was also reported that someone in the know in the company reached out last night to clarify that they’ve never heard of Shelley and Sabin being discussed for the NXT brand, and they’ve been planned for Smackdown for quite some time.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, known for their success as a tag team, recently parted ways with TNA and were expected to join WWE imminently. Reports indicated that they had already signed with WWE and were poised for an official debut, making the timing ideal for their entrance into the WWE ring.

Although PW Insider reported that the Motor City Machine Guns were going to NXT, that isn’t the case at all. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin will now go straight to the WWE main roster, where the two will work on the blue brand.
