Oba Femi won the Men’s Breakout Tournament and became the NXT North American Champion on the January 9th episode of NXT and since then he has been utterly dominant as the champion. In fact, he has now made history as he has become the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion of all time.
Oba Femi has now made history as the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion, holding the title for an impressive 270 days, surpassing Wes Lee’s previous record of 269 days.
During his dominant reign, he has successfully defended his title 10 times, defeating big names like Wes Lee, Ivar, Otis, Dijak, Josh Briggs, Lexis King, Joe Coffey, and more Superstars. Undoubtedly, some of his best matches have taken place at NXT Stand & Deliver in a thrilling triple threat match, an incredible singles match against Wes Lee, followed by another epic triple threat match at Great American Bash against Wes Lee and Joe Coffey.
Femi’s next challenge comes on October 8th, when he faces Tony D’Angelo on NXT. Oba has already bested D’Angelo at NXT No Mercy, so we will have to wait and see if Femi will reign supreme over the Don of NXT once again, as it’s quite clear the era of Oba Femi is far from over now.
