As WWE Bad Blood 2024 approaches this Saturday, excitement is mounting with five marquee matches set to take place. However, one of the most anticipated bouts—the World Heavyweight Championship match between Gunther and Sami Zayn—will now happen on the October 7th edition of RAW instead of the premium live event.
This shift in plans sparked curiosity among fans, and Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com shed some light on the decision. He revealed that WWE felt Bad Blood was strong enough to sell out without the match, allowing them to use it as a ratings booster for RAW.
“When we asked why, we were told that this show didn’t need that match, so they could use it to boost RAW. And based on ticket sales and secondary market demand, that would be correct. They don’t need that match on this show.”
The decision seems to have been justified, as tickets for Bad Blood sold out almost instantly. The event’s popularity is evident in the secondary market, where the lowest ticket price now stands at a hefty $225.
While Bad Blood promises to deliver high-stakes action, WWE is clearly positioning the Gunther vs. Zayn match to drive viewership for RAW, giving fans even more to look forward to in the coming days.
