QT Marshall shared that before he originally left AEW in November 2023, he had a deal in place to work with TNA Wrestling.

Speaking on the Gabby AF podcast, Marshall explained that although he resigned from AEW at the end of 2023, he returned in February 2024 under a new role as Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination. This new deal allows Marshall to wrestle for any promotion outside of WWE, and his agreement with TNA was almost finalized.

Marshall discussed his conversations with Scott D’Amore, noting that they had worked out a deal for him to wrestle for TNA Wrestling while still working for Tony Khan at AEW. QT explained, “We had made an agreement, and Tony was going to help pay for my flights.”

Unfortunately, the plans never materialized, as D’Amore stopped reaching out once the situation changed, which likely coincided with Marshall’s return to AEW.
