WWE always has surprises in store for fans, and it appears that they should expect to see the Motor City Machine guns very soon. There was already abuzz that they’re on their way during the October 4 WWE SmackDown, and that seems to be the case.
PW Insider has now reported that a coming soon vignette on Friday Night Smackdown aired, featuring footage that appeared to be from Detroit. The outlet was told that the vignette would be for The Motor City Machine Guns.
Originally, there was a plan for the team to debut in WWE NXT for a short run there before moving on, but they were not in Chicago as originally expected earlier this week. Instead, it appears they are Smackdown bound.
The Motor City Machine Guns, one of wrestling’s most popular tag teams, have been making waves since leaving TNA earlier this year. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley were rumored to have been in talks with both AEW and WWE, though reports indicated negotiations with AEW ultimately fell apart for a variety of reasons.
It appears that the Motor City Machine Guns are going to skip NXT and move right into the tag team division on SmackDown. Only time will tell what kind of impact they can make in WWE.
