AJ Styles’ much-anticipated return to WWE SmackDown on October 4 didn’t go as planned. The Phenomenal One kicked off the show with a heartfelt reflection on his previous WWE run, admitting his remorse for the actions that led to his brutal “I Quit” Match against Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle.

But before Styles could finish his speech, he was interrupted by none other than Carmelo Hayes. The brash young star didn’t hold back, poking fun at AJ for being an “old-timer.” Refusing to let the insult slide, Styles immediately challenged Carmelo to a match. At first, Carmelo declined—until WWE United States Champion LA Knight stepped in, offering Carmelo a shot at his title if he could defeat AJ Styles.

The match began with high stakes, but things took a sudden turn when Styles appeared to injure his foot mid-match. The injury forced the bout to be called off, awarding Carmelo the win by forfeit. But the night wasn’t over for Carmelo, as LA Knight delivered a post-match BFT to send a message of his own.

AJ Styles, though visibly hurt, was able to limp away from the ring under his own power. While the WWE Universe eagerly awaits updates on his condition, Ringside News will continue to provide all the latest information as it becomes available.
