Adam Cole’s ankle injury, which he sustained at AEW Grand Slam last year and involved fractures in three different areas, has significantly affected his wrestling career. After a lengthy recovery period, the status of his in-ring return has now been revealed.
Even while recovering from injury, Adam Cole has remained a prominent figure on AEW television. In December at AEW World’s End, he surprised fans by betraying MJF, which resulted in the creation of The Undisputed Kingdom, featuring Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong, and Wardlow.
Most recently, during AEW Double or Nothing in May, Cole delivered a compelling promo that set the stage for MJF’s return from injury. This confrontation escalated, leading to MJF brutally attacking Cole in the ring and writing him off television.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Adam Cole’s return to the squared circle is anticipated to be “not that far in the future,” which is certainly a relief for his fans.
It was also reported that Adam Cole’s return to the ring has been delayed due to the severity of his injury. Nonetheless, only time will tell when Adam Cole will be ready to make his in-ring return, as fans can’t wait for him to wrestle again.
