Nikki Bella has taken legal action against her husband, Artem Chigvintsev, following a domestic violence incident that occurred in late August 2024.

According to TMZ, Nikki filed for a restraining order on Monday, and a judge has since granted the order. Artem is now prohibited from contacting Nikki, their son Matteo, or coming within 100 yards of them, their home, and more, with the exception of court-ordered visitation.

This follows an earlier report that Artem was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge after an altercation with Nikki. The Napa County District Attorney’s Office later declined to file criminal charges against him. However, Nikki has now made the decision to pursue legal protection for herself and her son.

In her sworn declaration, Nikki described the events that led to Artem’s arrest. She alleged that Artem, who had recently been cut from Dancing with the Stars, had grown increasingly angry and lashed out at her over small things, including how their son’s English muffin was toasted. According to Nikki, the situation escalated to the point where Artem tackled her and pinned her to the ground outside their son’s room after a heated exchange.

“Due to the incident that led to Artem’s arrest on August 29, 2024, Nikki has decided to file for a temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order to protect herself and her son,” a representative for Nikki stated.

“Although Nikki requested that the Napa District Attorney not file charges against Artem as she did not want him to go to jail, he must still be held accountable for his actions, and Nikki and her son must be protected.”

Nikki remains focused on her son’s wellbeing during this difficult time and has expressed gratitude for the love and support she has received. As the situation develops, Nikki is asking for privacy for herself and her family.
