You never know what can happen in pro wrestling, and that was proven all the more true when Tony Khan and Shane McMahon were caught having a meeting to discuss potential future ventures. Tony Khan addressed that photo and so did Shane McMahon eventually, but it didn’t stop the rumor mill from churning in overtime.

There is now a popular theory after Jon Moxley’s promo during the October 2 AEW Dynamite. The segment that capped off the company’s 5-year anniversary was certainly cryptic, and many believe that it means Shane McMahon is on his way to AEW. After all, he did just have a little meeting with The Young Bucks.

Shane McMahon’s name started trending on Twitter after AEW’s 5-year Dynamite celebration episode. A lot of things went down during that night, and many believe that the company set the stage for Shane-O Mac’s entrance.

Yrechoheart on Twitter commented to say, ““BCC in the NWO role as the ex-WWE wrestlers looking to disrupt things. Shane McMahon as their Bischoff. The Elite in the Four Horsemen role as the heels who have been here since day one (albeit with some lineup changes along the way).”

ProWrestleFinesse tweeted out to say, “Mox’s shoot stuff fits in with Shane McMahon’s RAW Underground vision. It’s the only thing that makes sense for me, especially when they asked who is forcing Mox’s hand.”

WrestleLogic also tweeted out to throw a bit of a wet blanket over this theory as they said, “Y’all are stupid if you think this is Shane McMahon. I bet it’s Josh Barnett.” That is also possible, but we will have to see what happens next.

We will have to see how Tony Khan books this situation, but the connections between Shane McMahon and AEW are hard to ignore at this point. McMahon’s old friend, Pete Gas, can’t even rule out Shane showing up in AEW.

AEW’s new deal with WBD may have also included a bit of McMahon magic as well. Obviously, this is a still developing story, and it could all come to a head at any time.
