Ethan Page is eager to continue his onscreen interactions with CM Punk after their memorable encounter on the October 1 edition of WWE NXT.

During the NXT Championship match between Trick Williams and Ethan Page, Punk served as the special guest referee and found himself drawn into the action. In the match, Page attempted to taunt Punk by hitting Williams with Punk’s signature Go To Sleep finisher. However, after Williams celebrated his NXT Championship victory, Punk got the last laugh by delivering the move to Page.

In a recent interview on The Takedown On Sports Illustrated, taped before the NXT episode aired, Page expressed his desire to work more with CM Punk in the future. Page sees the potential in both their characters, especially in their ability to captivate the audience with their mic skills.

“I look at CM Punk and the first thing I want to do is put a microphone in his hand. I look at Ethan Page, the next thing I want to do is put a microphone in his hand and I just want to see them talk,” Page said. “To me, it’s like these two characters, Ethan Page and CM Punk, I would love to see more and what they’re able to do with each other and accomplish with each other.”

While the October 1 encounter had Punk in the role of referee, Page hinted at the possibility of future confrontations, even taking a playful jab at Punk’s penchant for drawing attention, particularly when he’s in his hometown of Chicago.

“If CM Punk wants to go to Chicago and try to make everything about himself like he usually does, I’ll happily let him because the more eyes watching on October 1 on The CW network, the better off I’ll be. The more eyes on Ethan Page means the more attention that I can steal away from CM Punk trying to get his glory back in his hometown probably for the 30th time now,” Page quipped.

While no immediate plans for further interactions between Punk and Page have been revealed, it’s clear that Page sees tremendous potential in a future program with the wrestling veteran.
