Bryan Danielson, a major figure in professional wrestling known for his significant contributions to the industry, left WWE to join AEW in 2021. After this week’s AEW Dynamite, Danielson reinforced his belief that AEW is the best wrestling company in the world.

The American Dragon spent many years with WWE, where he was a top star. Toward the end of his time there, Bryan Danielson was also involved with WWE Creative, earning the respect of many within the company.

After the October 2nd AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson gave a heartfelt speech in a digital exclusive following Tony Khan’s celebration of AEW Dynamite’s fifth anniversary. Khan thanked the fans and praised Danielson for all he had done for AEW, which led Danielson to share his own thoughts.

Danielson thanked Khan for creating AEW, saying it gave a new and important option for fans, wrestlers, and staff. He looked back on his first match in Pittsburgh 23 years ago, remembering how the crowd helped him become a top star. He also showed his appreciation for AEW’s wrestlers and fans, explaining that even though he had a secure job at WWE, he chose AEW because of the amazing talent and fans.

Danielson finished his speech by building excitement for the upcoming WrestleDream event in Tacoma, Washington, where he promised a tough match against Jon Moxley and vowed to put on a fierce performance.

“First of all, I’d like to thank Tony Khan. Without him, AEW wouldn’t be here. You wouldn’t have an alternative. It is better that AEW exists for the wrestlers, for the production people, and for professional wrestling fans. I first wrestled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 23 years ago. I don’t know if you guys remember, but you were the crowd that made me into a WrestleMania main eventer [laughs]. So I just wanted to say thank you, Pittsburgh. Last but certainly not least, I want to thank all the men and women in the back because they’re the ones who made this place so great that I had a lifetime job at WWE, and I chose to come here because there were the best wrestlers in the world, the best fans in the world, and this is the best wrestling company in the world. Next week, check out WrestleDream because at WrestleDream, in Tacoma, Washington, I am gonna kick Jon Moxley’s f****** head in.”

Danielson triumphed over Kazuchika Okada in the main event of the show and is clearly now focused on Jon Moxley. Therefore, we will have to wait and see if The American Dragon will successfully defend his title against The Purveyor of Violence once and for all.
