Injuries are common in professional wrestling and can happen at any time during a match. This week’s ROH taping session in Pennsylvania is the latest instance where things went wrong, as it seems that another talent may have suffered an injury.
Before the October 2 AEW Dynamite began, Sammy Guevara took part in a match against Serpentico during the ROH tapings, but he ended up getting knocked out during the bout and was stretchered out of the ring.
PWInsider reports that independent wrestler Kelly Madan was also knocked out and may have sustained an injury during the same ROH television taping in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
According to the report, Madan was wrestling Lady Frost, and in the final moments of the match, she was hit with a spinning move off the ropes. It appeared that Frost’s legs landed on Madan’s head or neck. After the referee counted to three, it was clear that Madan was unresponsive and did not move. AEW’s medical team, along with Frost and the referee, quickly surrounded her.
As the medical team checked on Madan, the house lights were dimmed. A fan who was there reported that Madan was taken out on a backboard after AEW loosened the ring ropes.
It is certainly unfortunate that two potential injuries happened during this week’s ROH television tapings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We will keep you updated on the health status of Kelly Madan and Sammy Guevara as more information becomes available.
