Speculation had been building regarding the TV rating for WWE NXT as the show made its debut on The CW Network.
Fans noticed a potential change when the CW listing suggested the program might be rated TV-14, causing some to wonder if NXT would adopt a more mature rating moving forward.
However, once the show aired, it was confirmed that NXT remained rated TV-PG, despite the earlier listing. This decision laid to rest the rumors and confirmed that the program would continue under its previous rating.
The premiere kicked off with a special appearance from Shawn Michaels and Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, who unveiled two new championship belts, marking the show’s significant step onto the CW Network. Another notable change came at the end of the show, where the title credits listed three executive producers—Paul Levesque, Lee Fitting, and Shawn Michaels—differentiating NXT from Raw and SmackDown, which only credit two executive producers.
As NXT continues to evolve on the CW Network, it will be interesting to see how the brand grows and whether any future shifts in tone or content emerge.
