Trick Williams Vows to Elevate NXT After Title Triumph on 10/1 Episode

Trick Williams challenged Ethan Page for the NXT Championship during the debut episode of NXT on the CW Network and ultimately triumphed. Following his win, Williams vowed to elevate the brand.

On the October 1st WWE NXT episode, Ethan Page defended his NXT Championship against Trick Williams, with CM Punk as the special referee. Near the end of the match, Page hit Williams with a GTS, but it only led to a two-count. Frustrated, Page reacted, and Punk teased him by holding two fingers in his face, showing how close it was.

Punk later got involved, and Trick Williams ended up winning the match to become the new NXT Champion. After the match, Punk hit Page with his own GTS move, ending the show on that note.

While speaking during an NXT Exclusive, Trick Williams talked about his victory. He noted how exciting it was to be in Chicago for the first time, expressing appreciation for the warm reception he received from the fans. Williams proudly displayed his new championship title, highlighting its beauty and emphasizing that he was ready to celebrate being on the CW network.

“Chicago’s crazy, isn’t it? This is my first time in Chicago, and they showed me love. I’ll forever appreciate that, Chicago. Thank y’all. But as we said, as I told y’all, I was going back and getting my baby. Look at this thing. It’s pretty, isn’t it? I got the new title, man. Welcome to the CW, we in here.”

When asked again about winning the title, Williams thanked Shawn Michaels and the coaching staff for their support and for giving him a chance to shine. He stressed that their efforts would help elevate NXT to new heights. Williams committed to taking care of his championship and making the most of this opportunity.

”All jokes aside, we going to the CW, we taking NXT to great heights, and shoutout to all the coaches. Shoutout to Shawn Michaels, shoutout to Matt Bloom, shoutout to Terry Taylor, giving me an opportunity. I’m gonna take care of this [title] with my life.”
