AEW is continuing to make waves in the wrestling industry, and now, all eyes are on the potential blockbuster deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery. Speculation is mounting that the two companies are close to locking in a massive agreement that could see AEW rake in a staggering $170 million per year for three years, with an option for a fourth. While the deal hasn’t been officially announced, Tony Khan is making it clear that AEW is in it for the long haul with TBS and TNT.
During a recent interview with Q93, Khan was asked about AEW’s relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery, and he didn’t shy away from expressing his excitement. He emphasized that AEW’s presence on TBS and TNT isn’t going anywhere, referencing their upcoming 5th-anniversary celebration on TBS as proof of their ongoing success.
“It’s a great point. We are really excited about the future of AEW. I think I made it clear time after time that we plan to be here a very long time on TBS and TNT,” Khan said. He added, “We are looking to stay a long time, and based on our very collaborative and progressive discussions with TBS, I think it’s safe to say that we will be on TBS for a long time to come.”
Khan’s comments only further fuel the rumors that a formal deal announcement is just around the corner. He also teased a huge announcement that could be coming before AEW Dynamite this week, which many believe will finally confirm the TV deal and bring an end to all the speculation.
With so much momentum behind AEW, it’s clear that the future on TBS and TNT is bright, and fans can expect even bigger things from the promotion in the years to come.
