Jonathan Coachman is getting real about why he turned down participating in the highly anticipated “Mr. McMahon” Netflix documentary.

During the latest episode of the “Behind The Turnbuckle” podcast, Coachman and co-host Tommy Carlucci dove into the details surrounding the doc about Vince McMahon, with Coachman explaining his decision to steer clear of the project.

Coachman revealed that he was approached to be a part of the documentary but ultimately decided against it because he believed it would be a “hit piece.” “People need to understand, I got called for this doc, and at the time, I was not prepared to go into a doc that I felt was going to be a hit piece.”

Coachman, who had a close relationship with McMahon, reflected on his decision, stating that, in hindsight, his participation wouldn’t have made much difference to him either way.

Coachman also revealed that yet another major network has reached out to him for a new WWE documentary project. While the details remain under wraps, Coachman hinted at his deep connection to McMahon, saying, “A lot of people don’t realize how close I was to Vince for many years. I was his assistant. I was on his plane. I did all the press conferences.” It seems this new doc might offer fans an even deeper dive into the complex world of WWE and its powerful leader.

With so many documentaries popping up about WWE’s inner workings, it’s clear that Vince McMahon’s legacy continues to captivate audiences.
