WWE Superstars often take time off for recovery, and Jimmy Uso did the same after WrestleMania 40 to heal from an injury. While there’s no indication he will return very soon, some fans wonder if he and Jey Uso would reform as a tag team.
Jimmy Uso has been missing from WWE since the SmackDown episode after WrestleMania 40, which has left fans worried about his status. He was taken out of The Bloodline, and Solo Sikoa took his place alongside Tama Tonga. As a result, the group has undergone major changes, affecting the dynamics of the faction.
As for Jey Uso, he won the Intercontinental Championship on the September 23 episode of Monday Night RAW. Due to his current run as a singles star, some fans speculated about a potential tag team reunion with Jimmy Uso, after the latter’s return.
While speaking during a Q&A session, Wrestle Votes reported that WWE had high hopes for Jey Uso and the reaction he would get after winning a singles title, but the response has exceeded their expectations. They are especially happy with how fans have reacted to Jey at house shows. This week, they introduced a new Intercontinental Title, which they had planned to unveil with him.
While it’s uncertain when The Usos will reunite as a tag team, it’s unlikely to happen immediately. Although Jimmy Uso might return to support his brother, a tag team title run isn’t expected to happen right away.
”They had expectations for Jey Uso and the reception that was going to be once he won a singles title. Those expectations were blown out of the water, they are thrilled with the reception for Uso at house shows. As far as merchandise this past week, they introduced a new Intercontinental Title which they were waiting to do with him. I can’t see them going back right away as The Usos as a team. I could once Jimmy is ready for TV to come and aid his brother, but does that mean right away they’re a tag team again and going for tag team gold? I wouldn’t say right off the jump, no.”
We have reported that Jimmy Uso is also perfectly healthy during his hiatus. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see when Jimmy Uso will return to WWE television first, as a future tag team run with Jey Uso doesn’t seem to be in the cards at the moment.
