The pro wrestling world has a lot of history behind it, but there are some people that you just don’t bring up in a negative light. Some get upset when they are mentioned at all, but Chris Jericho has never been one to care too much about feelings. During the October 2 AEW Dynamite, Jericho took things to another level with his next match already.

Jay Briscoe was killed in a car crash on a Delaware highway on January 17, 2023 while taking daughters to cheerleading practice. The 38-year-old pro wrestling legend will be remembered forever, and his brother, Mark Briscoe, is carrying on in his legacy.

During this week’s AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho had a TV Time segment. It didn’t take him long to get down to business. Then he called out Mark Briscoe for an ROH World Title match at Wrestle Dream on October 12, 2024, at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.

Mark Briscoe came out to get in Jericho’s face, and then The Learning Tree took things too far. Jericho said that Mark cannot beat him, but his brother, Jay, could have. That caused Mark to lay Jericho out with a shot to the face, and then he accepted the match.

We will have to see if The Learning Tree is able to win the ROH World Title at Wrestle Dream. At this point, their program is certainly getting off to a volatile start with that low-blow as he brought Jay Briscoe’s name into things.

Did Chris Jericho take things too far by bringing Jay Briscoe's name into this angle? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
