In April 2022, Zachary Wentz, formerly known as Nash Carter during his time in WWE, was released from the company. His release followed several allegations made by his ex-partner and fellow wrestler, Kimber Lee. These accusations, which gained significant attention, contributed to the decision to part ways with Wentz.

Kimber Lee accused Zachary Wentz of physically assaulting her while he was intoxicated. She also shared a photo of Wentz appearing to give a Nazi salute, with his mustache shaved to resemble Hitler’s. Wentz later issued a statement, expressing deep regret and apologizing for the photo. He claimed that Lee shared the image in retaliation after he filed for divorce.

In an interview with Metro, Zachary Wentz shared that after the series of events involving the allegations and controversy, he believed his wrestling career was over. He admitted that it was a dark time for him, but he emphasized the importance of moving forward, acknowledging his mistakes, and showing who he truly is as a person.

I really thought that I was never going to wrestle again. And it was pretty dark, but at the same time, you can’t live in that misery. You right your wrongs, you pick yourself up, you go through that whole process… People see your heart, and they know who you are as a human being.

Wentz also mentioned that he stayed in contact with NXT overseer Shawn Michaels during that period, and Michaels was supportive, frequently checking in on him throughout the ordeal.

Me and Shawn (Michaels) have been in contact since everything. He’s been very good at checking on me.

Zachary Wentz is scheduled to face off against Wes Lee on the October 1st edition of NXT, marking a significant moment in his career. After his firing a couple of years ago, Wentz believed he would never return to WWE, making this upcoming match even more meaningful. He’s simply happy to be back in WWE, appreciating the opportunity to wrestle again and rebuild his career after everything he went through.
