WWE’s NXT brand is about to make their long-awaited debut on The CW for their October 1 episode tonight. That is generating a lot of buzz, but WWE has been on the channel before. WWE SmackDown aired on The CW from September 22, 2006, to September 26, 2008. One man who was around for that show will also be on hand for this week’s NXT.

Matt Bloom is currently the Head Trainer at the WWE Performance Center, and he’s a very busy man. That doesn’t give him a lot of time to do promotional activities or posting on social media. He broke that trend of staying silent today before NXT’s CW debut.

Bloom also wrestled in the ring as Albert, a character that still lives on in WWE history. Naturally, he will be on hand for tonight’s show as he sees the Superstars of tomorrow walk down a road he has also travelled.

As NXT prepares for their big CW debut, Matt Bloom remembers a time when he got to wrestle on that channel so many years ago. He tweeted out a graphic of himself on SmackDown decades ago, along with a caption that summed up the excitement that everyone has for tonight.

“I’ve wrestled on UPN and I remember the excitement of the locker room when Smackdown first debuted on network television. All these years later and a new generation is experiencing that same excitement on a new network. They want it all. #NXTonTheCW”

Matt Bloom is obviously very proud of what NXT is about to do on The CW. Although this isn’t WWE’s first outing on the channel, it is apparent that the black and gold brand has a lot of things to do. Ringside News can’t wait to provide you with full updates and coverage of the show as things go down tonight.

Tonight’s NXT in Chicago will be a huge episode with CM Punk as special guest referee in Trick Williams and Ethan Page’s NXT Title match. Only time will tell if NXT will start out their new era with Trick holding the gold. Roxanne Perez vs Giulia could also see a huge development as the black and gold brand starts their time on The CW.

NXT is set to take over the Allstate Arena in Chicago tonight. It is a very popular event in town on a Tuesday night, but some tickets are still available on Ticketmaster.

How do you think NXT’s debut on The CW will shape the future of the brand, and what impact do you believe it will have on the next generation of WWE Superstars? Let us know in the comment section below.
