Trick Williams is undoubtedly one of the top stars in NXT right now, as he is a former NXT Champion and his charisma is simply undeniable. His entrance theme is also infection, and he recently revealed an interesting detail about his theme.

Fans getting involved in a WWE Superstar’s entrance music is nothing new, with the likes of Kurt Angle and Bryan Danielson having fans interact in many ways. Even Trick Williams’ theme allows for fans to use the signature ‘Whoop That Trick’ catchphrase.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Trick Williams talked about his entrance theme ‘Locked In’ and how it elevated him to a whole new level thanks to fans singing ‘Whoop That Trick’ along with it.

Trick Williams said that he thinks his popularity grew after he changed his entrance music. He went to the production team and asked to use “Family Ties” by Kendrick Lamar, drawing inspiration from it. He wanted heavy horns at the start, along with 808 drums and strong bass. When the team played the new instrumental for him, he felt it was the perfect fit.

“I think it really took off when they changed my entrance music. This is something else I’m not sure if people know, but I went to the production team and said, ‘Hey, I would like to change my music. I want to go with ‘Family Ties’ by Kendrick Lamar. I want heavy horns in the beginning, 808 drums, and heavy bass, you know what I mean?’ They came back to me with this instrumental that I have now, and I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s the one right there!'”

There is no doubt that fans will be chanting for Williams during his NXT Title match against Ethan Page on the October 1st edition of NXT, which will be the debut episode of the show on the CW Network. Therefore, we’ll have to see if he will be able to become the new champion again and establish himself as the top star.
