Tonight marks a significant milestone for WWE’s NXT brand as it makes its highly anticipated move to The CW Network with a new five-year TV deal. In the main event of the historic episode, Trick Williams will challenge Ethan Page for the NXT Championship, with none other than CM Punk serving as the special guest referee. The stakes are higher than ever for Williams, who has become a pivotal figure during this important time for NXT.

Ahead of the title match, Williams sat down for an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet and opened up about his thoughts on eventually joining the WWE main roster. While Williams has dreams of competing on the biggest stages, he’s also proud to be part of NXT during what he believes is one of the brand’s best eras.

“I think about it all the time, but I’m happy where my feet are,” Williams said. “I mean, NXT is on fire right now, arguably one of the better times NXT has ever seen. So with that, I’m proud to be here. I’m proud to be the face of NXT. Why are we going to CW? Why we got the biggest TV deal NXT has ever gotten? Why are we doing this traveling and stuff now? I’m part of it, and it feels good to say, hey, we’re part of something special here.”

Williams is fully aware of the momentum NXT is experiencing and is embracing his role as a key player in the brand’s success. While he’s eager for a future on WWE’s main roster, Williams remains focused on making an impact in NXT during this exciting period of growth.

When asked about his dream opponent in WWE, Williams didn’t hesitate to name Roman Reigns, calling him “the guy who’s been the cornerstone of the business for a while now.” The prospect of a match against Reigns is something that fuels Williams’ ambition as he continues to rise through the ranks.

Tonight’s NXT is set to be a monumental show, taking place at the Allstate Arena in CM Punk’s hometown of Chicago. In addition to the highly anticipated main event, the NXT Women’s Championship will also be on the line as Giulia challenges Roxanne Perez to kick off the episode.

With Williams eyeing the NXT Championship and Punk overseeing the action, tonight’s episode promises to be a defining moment for the brand as it embarks on its new chapter with The CW Network.
