WWE’s NXT brand made their long-awaited debut on The CW, so the black and gold brand had a packed show. The Miz just turned heel on the September 30 WWE RAW, but he was on hand for an episode of MizTV.

Tony D’Angelo and Oba Femi will get another chance at the NXT North American Title against Oba Femi for the October 8 NXT in Saint Louis. They had to sign a contract for that match, and this week’s NXT was the perfect place.

The Miz received a massive amount of boos in Chicago, and he asked them to “tell me how you really feel.” Obviously, they were still upset over last night.

Oba Femi made his way out first, and he was quite an imposing presence. He also seemed very sure of himself. Tony D’Angelo came out with his entire family behind him as he received a hero’s welcome as well.

Tony D gave Oba Femi his flowers for being so dominate, because he’s felt how powerful he is in the ring. That being said, Tony is using that fear as motivation, and he promised to dethrone Oba Femi on NXT next week.

Oba Femi had a chance to speak next, and he said that Tony D’Angelo doesn’t believe a single word he’s saying about being able to beat him. He said that Tony can have whatever side hustle he wants, but he will never be NXT North American Champion, because this is his title.

Tony D answered back by saying that he grew up on the streets of Chicago, and that got a big cheer and a chant from the crowd. He has family in the back and in the crowd, extended and immediate, all rooting for him. Then Oba Femi reminded Tony that none of those people can fight for him, and next week will be a different story.

Femi reminded Tony D how badly be beat him last week, and he said he can’t beat him. The two had a stand-off, and Tony said, “you’re just a man, Oba.” Then Oba said, “I am inevitable, you’re still broken.”

The segment ended as the two looked each other down, and The Miz said next week’s match is going to be awesome. Tony D seems ready and focused, but Oba Femi isn’t going to give his title up without a fight.

Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo will have their NXT North American Title match next week, and it will likely be a very emotional battle. Tickets to the October 8 show at The Factory in Saint Louis are still on sale via Ticketmaster.
