WWE has been making waves throughout 2024 with its continued global expansion, and Europe has been at the forefront of the company’s efforts. With premium live events in France and Germany, WWE has strengthened its presence across the continent, and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther has become a key figure in this movement. His dominance was on full display when he headlined WWE Bash in Berlin, defeating Randy Orton to retain his title in front of a raucous European crowd.
Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Gunther hinted that WWE’s European expansion is far from over. “We’re just getting started. The whole European expansion, it’s not the last of it we’ve seen, I think there’s more to come,” Gunther said. “I’m excited and I’m happy that I was able to position myself as one of the front runners of representing the company in that respect.”
While there’s no official word on when WWE may return to Europe for another premium live event, the excitement continues to build. Fans in Manchester will get their chance to see WWE live on October 16th, and Gunther is eager to compete in front of the passionate English fans.
“I’m excited to see who my opponent is going to be in Manchester,” Gunther remarked. “I’ve had many great moments there, and I think the fans are very special.”
As WWE continues to expand its reach across Europe, Gunther’s leadership and presence are helping to position the continent as a key market for the company. Fans can expect to see more of WWE’s top stars and major events in Europe, and Gunther’s reign as World Heavyweight Champion seems poised to play a significant role in the company’s future plans.
