The feud between Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman has taken a chaotic turn, with destruction reigning supreme in their recent encounters. It culminated in a huge match on RAW this week, but it appears Strowman suffered an injury.
During the September 30 WWE RAW in Evansville, Indiana, Braun Strowman faced Bronson Reed in a highly anticipated Last Monster Standing match. The bout was filled with pure carnage from start to finish, even resulting in the ring breaking down.
In the closing moments, Seth Rollins made his unexpected return to WWE television, delivering a devastating curb stomp on Reed. This intervention ultimately allowed Strowman to secure the decisive victory in the intense matchup.
While speaking during Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Braun Strowman suffered a torn groin during the Last Monster Standing match on WWE Raw last night.
According to Alvarez, after a commercial break, Strowman was hit with a Samoan Drop by Bronson Reed, leading him to grab his thigh and groin area. The match continued with Strowman attempting a spot where he would knock Reed off the apron and through some chairs. However, as he started running, it was clear he was injured; he struggled to walk along the ropes and was limping significantly.
After successfully knocking Reed off the apron, Strowman remained in the corner for an extended time, prompting the referee to communicate urgently with backstage personnel. It appears that a torn groin is a likely diagnosis based on the situation observed during the match.
“I did get it confirmed – if you watched the Raw show last night, the Last Monster Standing match. They went to a commercial break, and they came back, and Braun Strowman got hit by Bronson Reed with a Samoan Drop. Braun Strowman grabbed his thigh/groin area, and then they were gonna do a spot where he knocked Bronson Reed off the apron through some chairs. (Strowman) starts running, and I knew immediately, this guy’s hurt. He normally can’t run all that fast, but he couldn’t even walk the ropes – he was limping the ropes. He knocks (Reed) off the apron and there was a long period where he just kind of laid there in the corner and the ref’s furiously communicating with the back. He may have torn his groin is what it’s looking like. That’s certainly what they thought yesterday.”
This news is certainly disappointing for Braun Strowman’s fans, as the severity of his groin injury remains unclear. It’s uncertain whether he will require extensive time off from wrestling. Only time will tell what the future holds for Strowman, but it’s evident that he won’t be competing in the ring for the foreseeable future.
