Tony Khan has developed a solid partnership between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery by ensuring that AEW’s content aligns with the network’s standards. This strategic collaboration has set the stage for a significant announcement regarding their new media rights deal. It now appears that the deal could be revealed during this week’s Dynamite episode.

We reported that AEW’s deal with Warner Bros. Discovery had been finalized, and Tony Khan even confirmed that AEW would continue airing on TBS and TNT for a long time now.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting an official announcement regarding AEW’s new media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discover for months. AEW, led by Tony Khan, has enjoyed a successful run on TNT and TBS, with its flagship show, Dynamite, occasionally surpassing one million viewers during the promotion’s early years. However, 2024 has seen a dip in viewership, raising concerns about the future of the partnership.

Recent reports revealed details about the potential new TV deal, which is rumored to be worth $170 million annually. The agreement would secure a three-year contract, with an option for a fourth year. Despite the anticipation, the deal has not been officially confirmed yet.

According to Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Daily Update, the deal is finalized and may be announced during the upcoming Dynamite’s fifth-anniversary show this week.

“An announcement is just about ready for the new WBD and AEW media rights deal. The deal has been completed. It’s possible it’ll be Wednesday in conjunction with the Dynamite 5th anniversary.”

We have also reported that the new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery could lead to significant changes in AEW’s schedule. As AEW’s deal with WBD nears completion, other networks like FOX are reportedly eyeing AEW programming. There’s a lot of anticipation for AEW’s future when it comes to the upcoming deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, so it remains to be seen just how much the deal will end up benefitting the company in the long run, once the announcement is made.
