WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has always been proud of his sons—Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Solo Sikoa—and recently, his focus has been on Jey’s journey within WWE.

Rikishi, who has occasionally been critical of his son’s booking, has seen Jey endure setbacks like his losses in the King of the Ring tournament and Money in the Bank match. However, Jey has bounced back in recent weeks, earning a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship and ultimately winning the title by defeating Bron Breakker on the September 23rd episode of WWE Raw.

Before Jey’s championship win, Rikishi discussed his pride and support for his son during an episode of his Off The Top podcast. Despite being on the sidelines, Rikishi made it clear that he is always rooting for Jey and the rest of his family as they navigate their WWE careers.

“I’m a proud pop. I’m a proud family member, watching everything on the sidelines and just enjoying the ride. I’m not there, but I’m riding with him. Know that I’m on the side, that I’m always rooting, I’m the number one fan, and I’m always gonna speak my mind,” Rikishi said.

He also emphasized his concern for the health and well-being of all WWE Superstars, adding,

“At the end of the day, the TV shuts off, everybody’s riding and stuff, tired, aching from the night before, injuries and surgeries, but the show goes on. So I can only just wish strength and health to everybody out there that’s doing it.”

With Jey now holding the WWE Intercontinental Championship, Rikishi’s pride has likely only grown stronger as he watches his son continue to succeed in the squared circle. With Rikishi always in his corner, it’s clear that Jey has a strong foundation as he looks to make his mark as champion.
