Mauro Ranallo is officially back! The former WWE NXT commentator made a return in a new video on Monday, hyping the relaunch of Scott D’Amore’s Maple Leaf Pro promotion.
This marks a significant moment for wrestling fans, especially as Ranallo will be the lead announcer for the promotion’s upcoming two-night event, “Forged In Excellence,” taking place at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, on October 19 and 20.
The official announcement came via social media, where Maple Leaf Pro shared a clip featuring Ranallo discussing Canadian wrestling fans and the rich history of pro wrestling in the Great White North. Ranallo, a fan favorite known for his passionate commentary, is sure to bring his signature style and enthusiasm to the MLP event.

Ranallo’s return to the wrestling world comes after his departure from WWE in 2020. Ranallo was well-regarded during his time with WWE, particularly for his work on NXT, where his passionate style and deep knowledge of the sport made him a fan favorite. However, due to personal reasons, including struggles with mental health, Ranallo chose to step away from the company. His departure left a void in WWE’s commentary booth, but fans always hoped for a return to wrestling at some point.
