Drew McIntyre is preparing for his third Hell in a Cell match this Saturday when he faces CM Punk at WWE Bad Blood. McIntyre’s previous experiences inside the Cell have been brutal, including his unforgettable 2020 encounter with Randy Orton. During that match, McIntyre suffered a nasty fall off the side of the Cell, crashing through the announce table below.

Speaking to Rick Ucchino of SI The Takedown, McIntyre reflected on the moment, saying, “I thought I legitimately broke my neck and broke something in my back. I bit through my tongue… I was spitting up blood, which we actually incorporated into the match. It was a cool visual, but legitimately the worst fall of my life.”

Despite his resilience, McIntyre has yet to secure a win in Hell in a Cell, holding a 0-2 record after losses to Orton in 2020 and Bobby Lashley in 2021. Now, McIntyre is stepping back into the Cell with a new challenge ahead of him: CM Punk, who hasn’t competed in a Hell in a Cell match since 2013, when he defeated Ryback and Paul Heyman in a handicap match.

This Saturday’s clash between McIntyre and Punk promises to be intense, with McIntyre looking to break his losing streak and Punk stepping back into one of WWE’s most punishing structures after a decade.
