Swerve Strickland has been gaining attention in AEW for his outstanding wrestling abilities and strong presence. He’s been out of action since All Out but will be returning soon enough, and now AEW’s plans for Strickland have been revealed.
During AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, MVP interrupted Prince Nana while he was providing an update on Swerve Strickland’s injury status, revealing that Swerve was still out of action following AEW All Out. MVP took this moment to criticize Nana’s management, pointing out that while Adam Page had burned down Swerve’s house, Nana seemed more concerned with side projects like selling coffee and dancing.
MVP hinted at having a business proposal for Swerve Strickland once he’s back, implying that Strickland deserves better, more focused management to help elevate his career.
While speaking on Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about AEW’s plans for Swerve Strickland in light of MVP’s arrival. It was reported that Swerve Strickland’s next big storyline in AEW is creating a lot of excitement within the company. After moving away from the AEW World Title scene, Swerve is expected to start a new story involving MVP. Many people in AEW are looking forward to seeing how this new direction for Swerve plays out.
“This is Swerve’s next big program, as he emerges out of the AEW World Title scene and I know it’s one that a lot of people are internally excited about.”
We have also revealed a key detail regarding MVP’s segment on Dynamite last week, and Swerve Strickland is expected to return sooner than anticipated. Therefore, we will have to wait and see how AEW will book Swerve Strickland’s storyline upon his return, as there is certainly a lot of hype for his upcoming program.
