Sean Waltman Reveals Earnings from WCW/nWo Game Despite No Creative Input

Sean Waltman is looking back on the good ol’ days of ’90s wrestling—when business was booming, and money was flowing like crazy. And it wasn’t just the wrestling matches that were paying off; it was video games, too.

Waltman, better known as Syxx from the nWo, recently opened up about receiving a massive check for his appearance in the iconic video game “WCW vs. nWo: World Tour” for the Nintendo 64. The game was a smash hit when it dropped in 1997, featuring top WCW stars and some international wrestlers thrown in for good measure.

In a new book titled The Art of N64 Wrestling Games, Waltman spills the tea on just how much he made for his role in the game—without really doing much at all. According to the former WWE star, he didn’t have to pick his moves or get scanned for the game. The real kicker? He got paid $40,000 for it! “I just remember receiving a check for 40k in residuals,” Waltman said. “It might’ve made more, but that was my first check.”

Not bad for sitting back and letting the game developers do all the work, huh?

Waltman also revealed that this wasn’t his first video game appearance—he also starred as the 1-2-3 Kid in the 1994 WWF Raw video game.
