WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan recently opened up about the evolving boundaries of WWE’s PG rating with her current storyline.
Morgan has been at the center of a controversial storyline involving Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley, a saga filled with tension, betrayal, and flirtation that’s drawn attention for pushing the limits of WWE’s traditionally PG content.
Speaking with the New York Post, Morgan discussed how the storyline has incorporated elements not commonly seen in WWE in recent years, from suggestive innuendos to public displays of affection. Morgan explained that, while WWE remains a PG product, they’ve been able to push the envelope with their storytelling, making it exciting for both fans and performers alike.
“We are a PG product at the end of the day, so the fact that we’ve been able to tell these stories and push boundaries a little bit more than we’ve done in the past couple of years has been exciting for fans,” said Morgan. “It’s also exciting as a performer to dive into the art form and the storytelling that we’re doing.”
Morgan also acknowledged that while WWE remains PG, she understands the balance between pushing boundaries and keeping within those constraints. “It’s a PG product at the end of the day so I know what to expect going into work,” she added.
Liv Morgan is set to defend her WWE Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley at WWE Bad Blood. In a twist that could impact the match, Dominik Mysterio will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage.
