Toni Storm recently returned to the ring after her AEW Women’s World Title loss to Mariah May, and while fans were eager to see her back in action, it was her comment about May that grabbed attention.

During STARDOM’s September 28 event, Storm teamed with Mina Shirakawa to take on Mayu Iwatani and AZM. After the match, in a backstage video shared by STARDOM, Shirakawa referred to Storm and May as her best friends. Storm, however, wasn’t having it.

“Mariah? I’ve never heard that name in my life,” Storm responded, before moving on to another topic. It was a brief but noticeable moment that had fans talking, especially given their history in AEW.

Since losing the AEW Women’s World Championship to May at All In London in August, Storm has kept a relatively low profile. Her latest comment suggests there may still be some tension between the two, though she didn’t elaborate further.

This comes after Shirakawa reunited with May at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, where she accidentally distracted Willow Nightingale, allowing May to land a critical attack.

As Storm prepares for her upcoming match against Mayu Iwatani for the IWGP Women’s Championship on October 5, fans are left wondering if the tension between her and Mariah May will continue to play out in the future.
